On Saturday, November 6, 2010 the Huron Valley Council for the Arts will host Finding Mona: Gallery and Studio Tour, sponsored by the Milford Downtown Development Authority.
Guests will be able to tour some of downtown Milford’s distinguished art galleries and studios, including The Joyce Cantalini Studio, Janice Dumas, Heiner Hertling, Pam O’Neil, Blackberry Mountain, Aubergine Studio, Main Street Art, and Wind River Gallery.
Artist demonstrations, including spinning, knitting and portraiture are featured at selected gallery and studio tour stops and musical entertainment will also be available. Guests will have the chance to meet many of the artists whose work is displayed. Items to be displayed at the studios and galleries will include a wide range of fine art pieces, jewelry, paintings, craftwork, hand-painted ornaments, fiber art, textiles, leather work, hand-woven baskets, mixed media, photography and various hand-crafted gift items.
The event serves as an opportunity for individuals to become aware of the depth of talent in the region by visiting the artists studios and galleries for a culturally-enriching experience.
The event will run from 10:00 a.m. til 6:00 p.m. Specials, discounts and shuttle services will be available.
Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 11 yrs old and younger. Tickets can be purchased at HVCA, 205 W. Livingston Rd. in Highland (or call 248-889-8660) and Main Street Art, 432 N. Main St. in Milford (or call 248-684-1004). Tour maps will be available at both ticket sites.
