The Village of Rochester Hills celebrated the beginning of Spring by making fashion a priority with a Spring fashion show this past Sunday at the Royal Park Hotel.  The show reported to have over 300 attendees and proceeds benefitted The Women’s Fund of Rochester, a local non-profit organization.  Ten stores from The Village displayed their take on Spring by displaying current trends such as floral prints, color blocking, pastels, trench coats, colored capris and sporty basics.  The lobby of the Royal Park Hotel, was decorated with beautiful fashions from the mall’s retailers as singer Olivia Millerschin entertained guests upon their arrival and during the Champagne & Chocolate reception.

The show kicked off with a bonus show featuring Cynthia LaMaide Designs.  LaMaide is a local Rochester fashion designer and celebrity stylist who has dressed Jennifer Aniston for the recent film Wanderlust, toured Europe with Lenny Kravitz and worked side by side with Donatella Versace.  LaMaide not only prepared her own designs for the Spring show but also styled all ten runway shows and helped produce the event.

I am pleased to say I was the surprise emcee of the event as I recently accepted  a position with The Village of Rochester Hills as their Fashion & Beauty Expert.   From now on I will enjoy hosting their fashion & beauty events, keeping you all fashionably informed on the Village of Rochester Hills website and much more!

The show was a fashionable affair.  The guests were dressed in their Sunday best displaying bright colors, pastels, ruffles and statement jewelry.  Retailers involved in the show such as Gap, Banana Republic, White House Black Market, Eddie Bauer, Francesca’s and many more, all put their own spin on Spring fashions and featured their own current Spring arrivals that are currently in stores now.  The show did not feature just one look, it featured individual retail looks giving a wide variety of trends and acceptable wardrobe choices for different levels of personal style and interests.  The show featured something for everyone and the crowd was quite receptive.

The show began with dancers from The Pointe Academy Dance Center dressed in tutu’s hand-made by Cynthia LaMaide and ended with Point Academy dancers dressed in clothing from The Buckle that livened up the crowd with an exciting dance and dramatic ending.

I would like to thank everyone who came to support me, The Village of Rochester Hills, Cynthia LaMaide and The Women’s Fund.  We look forward to seeing you all again at the next show scheduled for August 2012.

No idea, Fria! But they should! They have so many great retailers and the Rochester community loves to shop there and loves a good fashion event. I hope to work with them again. Muah! See you at the luncheon this May!
