  • My favorite part of the holidays are all the events and excuses we have to visit family and friends. Plus, I’m a sucker for gorgeous Christmas decor/lights!

My favorite part of the holidays is the spirit of giving to those you care about and those less fortunate. I use much of that time for my son to volunteer at our local Children’s Hospital and seniors home. It makes me feel good to see him gain so much from giving back.

My favorite is staying up late on Christmas Eve to get every toy opened, batteries put in and wrapped. Then waking up early with the little ones and seeing their faces light up more and more as they unwrap all of their gifts. Then having the hubby make a big pancake breakfast and relaxing with the family:)

  • I love the holidays for many reasons but here are a few: free time away from work, a reason to visit with family and friends and shop of course.

  • There are so many things to love about the holidays but I have to tell you a story since you aren’t judging. 🙂 Before the kids were born, we spent many years in another state (due to work) and became very anti-Christmas. Family never came to visit during the holidays because “it wouldn’t be the same as being at home.” I get that but… Our gifts from said relatives never made it on time and we were told (by said procrastinating relatives)”Just celebrate Christmas when they come.” They didn’t understand that it wasn’t about the gifts, it was about knowing they thought of us during their busy schedule and during the holidays. Now, with kids, I have a new appreciation for Christmas and am finally, finally beginning to love it again. Not for the gifts but for the mood that we create in our home surrounding it. The happiness and love!

I have a few favorites – Going to the Penn Theater in Plymouth to see It’s a Wonderful LIfe and Elf. The big screen adds so much more.

Every Sunday in December, watching the back to back Christmas movies on Hallmark and Lifetime Channels. Fire in the fireplace, crockpot going.

Baking so many cookies that I give them away to the neighbor kids.

Family pizza party on 12/23, family Christmas Eve Celebration with story telling of Christmas past, Christmas morning breakfast with the family. Relaxing day of football and Christmas movies.

    Fun, love and laughter!!

  • My kids are 2 and 4 and everything is new and exciting for them. They bring back the innocence of Christmas and they remind me how amazing life truly is. They make me ever so happy!

What makes me happy during the holidays is family, and my favorite day is the day after Christmas. We still have all the good smells, decorations, food and family, but none of the stress. That is always the day we have the most fun, too.
