Organized by The Big Toy Book, Sweet Suite 13 was like no other toy party you’ve ever attended.  Held at the River East Arts Center in Chicago, Sweet Suite 13  had over 50 toy vendors ready to share their toys and product info with invite only attendees eager to learn and play.

Social Media hosts Joey Fortman of Real Mom Media, Charlene DeLoach of Charlene Chronicles, Laurie Schacht of The Toy Insider Mom outdid themselves when planning this event.   Sweet Suite 13 was filled with bloggers and social media professionals with an intense dedication to learning all things sweet during the “biggest night of play”. Sweet treats, hands on demonstrations and brand reps ready to answer product questions filled the two story venue.  This night was a dream for mom bloggers who were eager to learn more about the brands and toys on display.

In the week leading up to Sweet Suite 13, the kids and I enjoyed playing along to the #myskylander social media game (related pictures on Instagram @glamorousmoms).  We didn’t win but it certainly was a nice surprise to see my daughter’s face on the big screen at the Skylanders exhibit.  I quickly took this photo and emailed it home to her to show her she made the big screen.  She was very excited!

My kids are ten and seven years old and Boogie Boards in my home are a hot commodity. It was fun to see the Boogie Board reps explain this cool product to my fellow mom bloggers.  In the background, I had no problem promoting the “big kid” toy myself.

As a child, spirographs were fun and entertaining and a great way to pass the time. I was pleasantly surprised to see Spirograph at the party and was thrilled to know they are still in the business of entertaining kids!

So, if you know me at all, you know this picture put me completely out of my comfort zone.  First off I hate dressing up in costumes (dressing up is for kids) and I very rarely laugh at myself, but when you go to Sweet Suite, all bets are off and you feel like a kid again. Literally.  This moment was fun, thanks VTech!

As a fashion and beauty blogger, I can not live without my designer clothes and beauty products and my daughter is starting to really enjoy all the girlie girl things in life too (late bloomer) so it was great to see her favorite “make up artist” kit on display.  Their fashion sketch books are fun too! I highly recommend them for your little divas.

A party is no fun unless you have great friends to party with.  You may remember Kristen Ruiz of Our Ordinary Life.  She and I worked together at Cheap Sally’s roof top party in San Diego two years ago.  We promoted Chef Gordon Ramsay’s new kitchen appliance collection for Kmart.  Or, you may remember her from my event; The Glamorous Luncheon in New York last year.  At this party though, we actually had a chance to relax and party together.  We even posed for a few photos.  Thanks to Snoopy, this one turned out the best!

I’d like to send a big thank you to Joey Fortman, Charlene LaRoach, Laurie Schacht, all of the toy companies involved and the Big Toy Book.  The box of toys we received in the mail was a generous touch.  As you can see, my son Mikhail was super excited to be the first to open the box when it arrived.

Our swag box was filled with wonderful toys for kids of all ages.  My son was greatly appreciative of the flying Spiderman, the Crayola toothpaste and most importantly, the Tagamoto set. We are already looking forward to next year!
