This year marks the 12th year of the Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront concert series and I was invited to experience the last concert of the season for a fun date night with my husband and Everclear. The Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront concert series featured six free consecutive Friday nights of music on the GM Plaza right along the Detroit River. Other concerts during the series were; Night Ranger, LOVERBOY, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, 38 Special, and Gin Blossoms.
I just love a good concert, don’t you?
Chevrolet loves the city of Detroit and so do I so having this opportunity to showcase nationally recognized musical artists for fans throughout the metro area to enjoy, right on our beautiful riverfront was something I was eager to participate in. Thanks to Chevrolet and the GM RenCen, My husband and I also enjoyed a romantic dinner with a beautiful view at Andiamo Ristorante located on the main floor of the Renaissance Center.
Rockin’ on the Riverfront is a riverfront success, having a positive economic impact on the community, Detroit retailers, and the city’s restaurants and hotels, since General Motors launched the series in 2005. Nearly a million people have enjoyed some hot summer nights on the riverfront plaza and by boat to see the concerts and we were happy to be a part of the celebration with Chevy, Everclear and Andiamo Ristorante.
In addition to providing a rockin’ good time on Friday nights, GM believes that the sustainability of Detroit’s economic recovery depends on reviving and creating hope in its neighborhoods. This is something I have believed in too for quite some time and love to celebrate Detroit and its fun events and local gems as much as I can.
