Handmade Booties, Not a Stitch Out of Place
Michigan fall has arrived and the temperature sure did drop! It doesn’t matter though if it’s a rainy, windy mess outside, as long as I have my favorite booties on, I’m doing alright. I recently won an Instagram contest with Evi Simjan and won these beautiful Vee handmade leather booties. Ever since I put them on, I can’t take them off. I love the detail and they’re like no other bootie in my closet. They’re super sassy, sexy and just look good at every angle not to mention how comfortable they are. They fit my foot like a glove and the four inch heel makes a statement for sure.
Chicago – based shoe designer, Evi Simjan was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her mother is Serbian and her father Macedonian. Her mission is to make chic, sexy footwear that is as comfortable as it is beautiful. I personally feel she achieved that goal. Evi’s designs also feature athletic-style cushioning, making them so comfortable you can wear them for hours.
Typically I wear heels and dresses everyday but when I do switch it up and wear pants, denim or leggings, you can bet my boots or shoes are going to be heels as well. Since I wear them a lot, I know what heel height is perfect for my own comfort and what style is best for my foot shape and size. Evi Simjan’s designs are custom made. She works side by side with the masters to create the perfect heel, and sole for each design. The Italian components are shipped to Macedonia where they are crafted and perfected. Beautiful, soft, supple leathers are also key in making these beautiful shoes and yes, these Vee booties are perfect for my feet and my wardrobe.
Did you know Macedonia has a rich history of quality shoemaking? Evi has taken all the elements she has learned to Macedonia and stumbled across this already existing knowledge. With exceptional Italian components and fine Macedonian craftsmanship, shoemaking has evolved into the work of art that is Evi Simjan’s first collection which was launched last fall. I certainly do appreciate a well made shoe but one made with love and a story? I’m all about them.
