Picturesque Views at The Grand Canyon

One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World is Arizona’s, The Grand Canyon. A World Heritage Site and drawing four million visitors a year, the geological wonder is one mile deep, 18 miles wide, and 277 river miles long.  We visited a few years back and let me tell you, there is so much to see and I can’t wait to visit again.

Basically, you can fly into other airports but the most popular international airport to fly into is the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, located three and a half hours’ drive from South Rim. Tickets are available online if you would like to purchase your park tickets ahead of time or you can buy an annual Grand Canyon pass to relive the magic over and over again if you live close or plan to visit frequently.

During our visit, we didn’t see the sunrise or the sunset.  We visited during the early afternoon and the scenic views were absolutely gorgeous. It’s true we only visited for a short time but while we were there, visitors taught us about the hike across the canyon from one rim to the other that takes about 21 miles. I learned the West Rim is closest to Las Vegas, and it is where you’ll find the Skywalk at Eagle Point, an attraction that sits 4,000 feet above the Grand Canyon. That is definitely next on my bucket list the next time I visit!

During the entire visit, I was in awe of the size and the picturesque scenery. Every photo I took was magnificent yet its magnificence is really hard to capture in one photo.
