Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2019 is Living Coral. Pantone has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in fashion, beauty, home furnishings, and industrial design for over 20 years and I’m completely inspired by the bright and brautiful color.

Living Coral: An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge –

Many of Pantone’s colors throughout the years have been fun to integrate into beauty routines. One of my favorites is 2015’s deep burgundy shade, Marsala, which was my go-to color on lips and nails. But Living Coral, the 2019 Color of the Year, is the perfect color for all types of makeup looks. It’s not just a color for lips and nails but a color for all cosmetic options including, blush, eyeshadow, and liners.

In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy. Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression. –

It’s true, we do need optimism and joyous pursuits. And, we do seek authentic and immersive experiences. Will Living Coral give us all of those things? Maybe not but I’m willing to make them happen while wearing these beautiful Living Coral makeup options.

Do you have a favorite coral beauty product? Here’s one of my secrets…. If you can’t find the perfect shadow, take after me and wear your favorite blush on your eyes too. This will keep your color scheme going and will give an even flow of color. Shadow and blush can be applied heavy or light and the application will determine how bright or natural the shade looks. It’s really up to you. Play around with it and have fun. I don’t know about you but wearing coral clothes and makeup both brighten my mood and my day. I could really get used to this.
